The next stage is to find a suitable location for the pampas plants and we need to take into account the following conditions, the location needs to be close to the house or driveway but not to far away. Some pampas plants can grow up to 12 feet and can be bushy. The location also needs to be where the plant will get around 6 hours a day sun light.

Dig the hole 18 inches deep by 18 inches wide. Amend the soil with a bucket or two of compost. This will not only give the young plant nutrients but also will help the soil to drain better. Pampas grass plants like sandy loam soil. If your soil does not drain well, add sand in a one-to-one ratio before back-filling. Once the pampas grass is in position and the soil is all filled back give the pampas grass a watering do not over water the plant, if you over water the plants it will rot the roots of the plant and eventually die.
